Registered Nurse pursuing BSN from Auburn University
A dedicated and passionate pediatric registered nurse currently obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Auburn University. I am committed to providing quality patient care and continuously expanding my knowledge and skills in the field of nursing.
About Me.
I am originally from Tennessee but moved to Alabama after obtaining a bachelor’s degree at Mississippi State University in psychology with a minor in kinesiology. I decided that was not my calling and obtained my associate’s degree in nursing May of 2024. I am currently a registered nurse working at Children’s of Alabama on the Hematology, Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplant unit. The teamwork on the unit and the relationships you make with coworkers and the families are what make going to work more enjoyable. I always knew I wanted to work within the medical field, bur ever knew exactly what that was until after graduating from MSU and really praying where to be led. I anticipate graduating from Auburn University fall of 2025. I have a golden retriever pup named Hank, who makes the best travel buddy.

Areas of Focus
Nursing Care, Patient Education, Healthcare Management & Community Health
As a nurse, I am focused on delivering exceptional nursing care, providing comprehensive patient education, understanding healthcare management principles, and promoting community health initiatives. My goal is to make a positive impact on individuals and families through evidence-based nursing practices and effective healthcare leadership.
Goals
1 / Short Term Goal #1
I want to obtain bachelor’s degree in nursing from Auburn University. By doing so, it will allow for more opportunities within the nursing field to grow. It will take three semesters to obtain a degree, which would have myself graduating summer of 2025. On average a student takes two classes each semester to allow oneself to work fulltime and focus on schoolwork.
2 / Short Term Goal #2
I would like to become certified within the specialty as a pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant nurse. After being on the unit as a registered nurse for two years, I can obtain these certificates through the pediatric nursing associations. There are many credit hours and opportunities for lifelong learning and networking within the field.
3 / Long Term Goal #1
For myself would be to a nurse medical representative. By obtaining my bachelor’s degree will place me in better position to gain the job. This position could be gained directly after college, but by working with patient’s and having the patient interactions will allow to have better communication skills when speaking to potential clients. I would want to be past a novice nurse before transitioning to this position and in that time would allow to search into the company that would want to research and pursue.
4 / Long Term Goal #2
I want to facilitate and own an equine therapy clinic for children with special needs or have been through challenging life events. To start this process, I would need to shadow and volunteer within the stables to see how the process is obtainable. Volunteering could start any time I was available to help. To obtain a certificate to be equine therapist, would need many hours in the stable and taking care of horse and needs. This can take a few years to achieve and then would need to research areas to open facility and range of horses for different needs.
